Summer Moon Glow — A Petrified Blue Opal Wood Necklace in Sterling Silver and Gold

Another bold and beautiful natural blue opalized wood, petrified for millennia. It’s difficult to imagine this here was once part of an ancient tree.

The ancient veining in this petrified tree offers deep indigo hued and black striations. Wrapped in fine silver, and set on sterling silver. Almost as if it were hidden, until light shines from behind, little hand sawed partial moon in the upper corner shines light on the “sky” and “water scene” below.

This stunning stone is 1.5 inches wide and including the arched gold filled bail, measures 1.6 inches from top to bottom. 

The sterling silver cable chain is in length and fastens with an oval lobster style clasp in the back. The chain is fixed on this piece and can not be removed and switched out for others.

This pendant incorporates recycled silver, as my other pieces and is all completed by my hand, using no power tools or harsh chemicals in the process.

As a reminder, please no submerging my jewelry in liquids, as refraining from doing so will prolong the silvers’ luster.
