A Somewhere World — A Pair of Landscape Jasper Dangle Earrings in Oxidized Sterling Silver and 14kt Gold

Mimbres Rhyolite or Apache Sage. — Two names for such a unique and breathtaking stone originating from a mine in New Mexico. Dendrites within the stone seem to sprawl out, providing an other-worldly landscape.

Wrapped in fine silver and backed on open sterling backplates (for an equally lovely view), this pair has been oxidized utilizing a non-toxic, old method of adding patina to silver.

Hanging from hand formed solid 14kt gold wires with additional solid gold accent pieces. Finished with oxidized lever-backs.

These stones measure approximately 0.7 inches tall by 0.65 inches wide. A total drop length of about 1.6 inches.

These are handmade and one of a kind. I have created these in an eco-friendly manner — from hand with no harsh jewelers chemicals and no power tools. 

The old fashioned way, using recycled silver.

Thus, it has taken me a considerable amount of time compared to using other modern jewelry techniques. Therefore, file marks, as well as asymmetries are all part of the hand-fashioned process.
