Casting Moonglow — A Dendritic Agate Landscape Pendant Necklace in Sterling Silver

It doesn’t happen terribly often, but just sometimes one finds these Agates with the Dendrites at varying depths within the stone. — Making the Landscape Scenery set before you nothing short of a tiny Miracle.

This one, wrapped in a fine silver bezel and set on a sterling silver backplate. Behind the stone peeks through a hand etched full moon, on a naturally oxidized background.

The pendant is about 1.35 inches tall including the bail, by about 1.2 inches wide.

She hangs from an 17.5 inch shiny sterling silver cable, which is fixed to the pendant, and fastens with an oversized oblong sterling lobster clasp in the back. 

This piece is handmade and one of a kind. I have created this in an eco-friendly manner using recycled silver — from hand with no harsh jewelers chemicals and no power tools.
The old fashioned way.

Thus, it has taken me a considerable amount of time compared to using other modern jewelry techniques. Therefore, file marks, as well as asymmetries are all part of the hand-fashioned process.

Do not submerge this necklace in liquid, as a haziness will form over time behind the stone.
