Autumn’s Gold - A Petrified Wood Opal Pendant Necklace in Sterling Silver

The Autumn Goldens are on their way. This Petrified Wood Opal Pendant Necklace is radiating all of the Fall Foliage Emotions.

Wrapped in Fine Silver and set on a backplate of Sterling Silver, this piece is flanked on one side with with a fused Sterling Silver Dust, and hangs from a twig-style hand formed bail. 

The alternating paperclip and bar and link chain offers further visual interest, and is fastened in the back with an oversized oblong lobster clasp.

The pendant measures about 2 inches long by about 0.75 inches wide. The chain is about 19 inches long, and is fixed to the pendant, so the chain can not be removed.

This piece is handmade and one of a kind. I have created this in an eco-friendly manner using recycled silver — from hand with no harsh jewelers chemicals and no power tools.

Thus, it has taken me a considerable amount of time compared to using other modern jewelry techniques. Therefore, file marks, as well as asymmetries are all part of the hand-fashioned process.

Please refrain from submerging this piece in liquids as in doing so, the silver will lose its luster over time, and moisture will collect behind the stone.
