Art Class Prints — A Pair of Petrified Opalized Wood Dangle Earrings in Oxidized Sterling Silver

When I was a kid in elementary school, we used to create these homemade “stamps” in Art Class. I remember using sliced apples, and potatoes mainly. We would gently dip them in bowls of paint and then use them like a stamp, creating these brilliant patterns on paper.

This Natural Petrified Wood pair remind me a bit of those stamped patterns from school.

Wrapped in fine silver and set on sterling. Hand formed ear wires and hangers; this pair has been oxidized using a natural non toxic method. Bringing out the natural deep moody colors in the silver.

Because I use an environmentally friendly, and old style of oxidation, the dark oxidation colors may and will be uneven. Rather than a solid color, many deep colors come out in this process such as cobalt blues, deep purples and stormy grays. — All another benefit of using non-harsh patina techniques, you get a true oxidization effect.

These stones have an approximate length of 1.2 inches by 0.6 inches wide. The total front length of the earring is 2 inches. The total length of the ear wire in the back is 2.25 inches.

These earrings incorporate recycled silver, as my other pieces and were completed by my hand, using no power tools or harsh chemicals in the process.
