Dunes of Castle Hill — A Dendritic Agate Pendant Necklace in Oxidized Sterling Silver

Reminiscent of the towering sand dunes at the beach of my home town, as they were when I remember them as a child. 

This naturally detailed Dentritic Agate has been wrapped in fine silver and backed on sterling silver. A sterling silver twig-style bail hangs this pendant from an oxidized sterling cable chain. The piece finishes with an oversized lobster clasp in the back. The chain is fixed to the pendant and thus can not be switched out.

This pendant and chain has been oxidized using a time consuming non-toxic method, one that offers not a uniform, but varying degrees of dark and smoky hues. I strive to create my oxidized pieces to come as close as possible to looking as if they were truly oxidized over a long period of time.

Pendant Width — 0.8 inches

Pendant Height including Bail — 1 inch

Chain Length — 19 inches. This chain can not be switched out and is fixed to the pendant.

This is handmade and one of a kind. I have created this in an eco-friendly manner — from hand with no harsh jewelers chemicals and no power tools. 

The old fashioned way, using recycled silver.

Thus, it has taken me a considerable amount of time compared to using other modern jewelry techniques. Therefore, file marks, as well as asymmetries are all part of the hand-fashioned process.
