Lichen Forest — A Petrified Wood Pendant Necklace in Sterling Silver

Lichen. Such a delicate and intricate formation courtesy of Mother Nature.
When I first peered into this Natural Petrified Wood, I saw a representation of this detailed greenery on a different scale.

This stone has been wrapped in fine silver and backed on sterling and hangs from a hand formed bail. The sterling chain, just shy of 19 inches finishes with an oversized lobster clasp. This chain can be removed from the pendant and switched out for your own, should you choose, because of the diameter of the bail.

The pendant measures 1.35 inches long, including the bail by 1.45 inches wide.

This piece is handmade and one of a kind. I have created this entire piece in an eco-friendly manner — from hand with no harsh jewelers chemicals and no power tools.

Thus, it has taken me a considerable amount of time compared to using other modern jewelry techniques. Therefore, file marks, as well as asymmetries are all part of the hand-fashioned process.
