Otherworldly — An Apache Sage Rhyolite Reversible Pendant Necklace in Shiny and Oxidized Silver and 14kt Gold

A Little World of its Own …. This Mimbres Valley Apache Sage Rhyolite holds a Serene Landscape inside.

Wrapped in Fine Silver and set on Sterling, this Pendant Necklace hangs from a hand-formed oversized bail at the top of the pendant.

Oxidized Silver and 14kt Gold accent pieces flank the bottom of the pendant.

This pendant and chain has been oxidized using a time consuming non-toxic method, one that offers not a uniform, but varying degrees of dark and smoky hues. I strive to create my oxidized pieces to come as close as possible to looking as if they were truly oxidized over a long period of time.

Measurements:

Pendant Width — 1.9 inches

Pendant Height including Bail — 1.4 inches

Chain Length — 18 inches. Shiny Sterling Silver long oval chain. Fastens with an oxidized modern lobster clasp. Because of the oversized bail on the pendant, this chain can be removed and switched out for one of your own.

As a reminder please do not submerge this pendant in liquid, as it will effect the oxidation.

This is handmade and one of a kind. I have created this in an eco-friendly manner — from hand with no harsh jewelers chemicals and no power tools. 

The old fashioned way, using recycled silver.

Thus, it has taken me a considerable amount of time compared to using other modern jewelry techniques. Therefore, file marks, as well as asymmetries are all part of the hand-fashioned process.
