Up with the Morning Dew — An Opalized Petrified Wood Pendant Necklace in Oxidized Silver and 14kt Gold

Who knew Ancient Waters and Woods could create an unimaginable pattern. This Opalized Petrified Wood, buried for Millions of Years, working on this breath-taking scene.

A single blooming flower, against a landscape of sky and hills. The reverse of the stone, not as highly polished, but a slightly varied representation of what is displayed on the front. — Hence, why this pendant necklace was created to be reversible. After all, how do you choose between a favorite side.

Wrapped in Fine Silver and set upon an open Sterling Back, this piece has then been oxidized.

A unique handmade bail allows flexibility for this piece independent from the chain. 14kt Gold accent pieces flank one side of the pendant.

This necklace was then oxidized using a time consuming non-toxic method, one that offers not a uniform, but varying degrees of dark and smoky hues. I strive to create my oxidized pieces to come as close as possible to looking as if they were truly oxidized over a long period of time.

Pendant Length — 1.75 inches

Pendant Width — 1.5 inches

Chain Length — 19 inches. Sterling Silver Oval Link Chain. A modern style Sterling Lobster Clasp fastens in the back. Oxidized Silver. Because of the style of the bail, this chain can be switched out for one of your own should you choose.

This is handmade and one of a kind. I have created this in an eco-friendly manner — from hand with no harsh jewelers chemicals and no power tools. 

The old fashioned way, using recycled silver.

Thus, it has taken me a considerable amount of time compared to using other modern jewelry techniques. Therefore, file marks, as well as asymmetries are all part of the hand-fashioned process.
