Skating Ponds — An Agate and Pyrite Pair of Dangle Earrings in Oxidized Silver and 14kt Gold

January’s Chill….

This Agate Pair has Pyrite inclusions, making this January Ice appear dusted with Gold Speckles. It’s as if these miniature skating ponds were peppered with Gold.

Wrapped in fine silver and set on sterling, this pair hangs from leverbacks and have been oxidized.

Because I use an environmentally friendly, and old style of oxidation, the dark oxidation colors may and will be uneven. Rather than a solid color, many deep colors come out in this process such as cobalt blues, deep purples and stormy grays. — All another benefit of using non-harsh patina techniques, you get a true oxidization effect.

These stones measure approximately 0.7 inches wide by 0.9 inches long. The total length of the earring is 1.7 inches.

These earrings incorporate recycled silver, as my other pieces and were completed by my hand, using no power tools or harsh chemicals in the process.
