Golden Harvest — A Marcasite Bracelet in Sterling Silver and Solid 14kt Gold

Marcasite with its Gold Flecks and soothing warm tones sits very well in the color scheme of the Season.

Wrapped in Fine Silver and set on a partially open backplate of Sterling Silver, this piece then has had partially fused Solid 14kt Gold Accents melted onto one of its sides. As if the Gold were giving the stone a hug, the warmth of the Gold thus truly combining with the piece was my intent.

I have hand-formed all of the Sterling Silver links in this bracelet, and this Marcasite stone is a delightful compliment to that work.

The stone is approximately 0.75 inches wide by 1.1 inches long. The bracelet measures about 8 inches long in total length. But because of the oblong lobster clasp, and style of the links, this can be fastened onto a different link, thus shortening the chain for a smaller wrist.

This piece is handmade and one of a kind. I have created this in an eco-friendly manner using recycled silver — from hand with no harsh jewelers chemicals and no power tools.

Thus, it has taken me a considerable amount of time compared to using other modern jewelry techniques. Therefore, file marks, as well as asymmetries are all part of the hand-fashioned process.
