Nighttime in the Cosmos — A Boulder Opal Ring in Sterling Silver and 14kt Gold — Size 6 1/2 to 6 3/4

The Beauty of these Natural Boulder Opals from Australia continue to amaze me with their unbridled and unique wonder. The deep colors and patterns in this one are simply enchanting. 

The opal has been wrapped in fine silver and set upon sterling. The wide sterling band had a smooth overlapping style with a 14kt solid gold accent piece at its join.

The face of the stone is approximately 0.65 inches by 0.45 inches at their widest points.

This ring measures size 7 on a mandrel, although because of its wide band, at 0.4 inches, this would best fit a size 6 1/2 to 6 3/4.

This is handmade and one of a kind. I have created this in an eco-friendly manner — from hand with no harsh jewelers chemicals and no power tools. The old fashioned way, using recycled silver.

Thus, it has taken me a considerable amount of time compared to using other modern jewelry techniques. Therefore, file marks, as well as asymmetries are all part of the hand-fashioned process.
